September 2015 saw Nerina Pallot release a new album ‘The Sound And The Fury’ on her own label Idaho Records, which The Sunday Times declared “The year’s most convincing reinvention”. Never one to shy away from covering the topics she feels passionate about, Nerina’s next single ‘If I Had a Girl’ which will be released on Feb 12th, 2016 is a rousing feminist ode to the daughter she doesn’t have.

Nerina, who was a keynote interviewee at AIM’s recent Women in Music conference in London, explains, “I have a small son. No matter how far we think we’ve come, I can tell you for a fact life is already a hell of a lot less complicated for him at the age of four than it is for his female counterpart.” Nerina is set to be a guest pundit on Channel 5’s ‘The Wright Stuff’ the week of 25th January.

The video sees drag artist Max Allen transform himself from scratch. Watch his compelling metamorphosis below.

Nerina hits the road on a 10-date UK tour in April 2016 including a night at the iconic Union Chapel in London on April 18th. Full run down of dates below. Tickets go on general sale Friday 15th January.

‘The Sound And The Fury’ is an album as tempestuous as its title suggests. It’s a bold, bluesy, Biblical storm, in turns restless, aggressive and defiant. The album was launched via the Guardian with The Road – a hard hitting and topical video in which filmmaker Damian Weilers Interpreted the song’s lyrics his own way. Shot in Calais it is a frank, impartial document of his experience, highlighting not only the desperate circumstances of the migrant camps but the sense of community they have managed to pull together in spite of their plight.

‘The Sound And The Fury’ also includes the stunning single ‘Rousseau’. A definitive fan favourite and inspirational keystone to the album’s development, Rousseau takes its title from both French painter Henri Rousseau and Swiss philosopher Jean-Jacques Rousseau.
