On April 11th, 2024, visionary ‘chic pop’ singer-songwriter Alfreda, will share her poignant, and perceptive single ‘Nude’, via Nutopia Music. The new music follows her critically acclaimed single ‘Lipstick’ and is the second track to be released from the artist’s forthcoming EP ‘Mother’s Makeup Pt.1’. All   songs were produced by Moses van den Bogaerde, and co-written by songwriter George Petrie (Petrie, Mercy’s Cartel, Ed Staal). “Nude” adds additional intrigue and insight to the “Mother’s Makeup” world and lands alongside a deeply affecting music video, directed by close friend and collaborator, Stanley Dunmore.

“Nude” opens with an emotive piano and strings combination, which tiptoe towards the edge of the world just to know what it feels like and then accidentally fall off. Lyrically, Alfreda sticks to the naivete of pretending not to understand until she can’t anymore, and then it’s lost, gone forever and she’s exposed. The moment is captured by the apocalyptic synth that grows louder and louder until it’s just noise.

Alfreda said about ‘Nude’ “I wanted to capture sonically and lyrically the first moment a woman is seen as an object of desire. Misunderstanding intentions and misreading the signs that this interaction is not so sweet at all. The childlike naiveté and innocence upon being asked to get naked. The video concept supports this notion, I’m dressed up as Marie Antoinette sending a nude.

The new Alfreda embodies both old-school Hollywood glamour and the seductive futurism of synth-pop. Her sound, visuals, and performances, build an entire universe presenting an alluring fusion of vintage swing with the complex atmosphere of a David Lynch film.

Performances inspired by the burlesque scene also play a big part in Alfreda’s creativity. The artist holds down a cabaret-inspired residency called ‘Bedroom Tales’ at overhauled London music hub and now members club House of KOKO and her first headline show will be held in May, at The Social in central London.

To promote the hotly anticipated debut EP, she is soon embarking on a ‘Bedroom Tour’, which will see Alfreda perform her songs in various, different people’s bedrooms across England. Just a week before Glastonbury in 2023, Alfreda was invited to play at the festival by burlesque icon Evelyn Carnate.

Alfreda will have a three-page editorial shoot and interview in the May issue of Tatler, where she will be discussing her music, cabaret, influences and her exciting visual world.
