Grammy nominated British producer & songwriter Maths Time Joy will release his new single ‘Count On Me’ featuring Toulouse and Zaia on January 19th through Platoon. This is the second single to be released from Maths Time Joy’s ‘Sunset Motel’ EP which will be released in Spring 2018. Nigerian born and New York based vocalist Toulouse and 20 year old Atlanta native, Zaia who’s signature style mixes rap with R&B and soul to the point that you really don’t know which genre to place his style in, join MTJ for this stunning electro R’n’B track.

Speaking about the track MTJ explains “I’ve worked with Zaia a couple of times before and he always has strong melodies, we had this verse for a while. Toulouse is someone I’ve been a fan of since I first heard him, his harmonies are beautiful. It made sense to get them both on the same track, there’s a lot of soul in both their vocals and they complement each other.”

‘Count On Me’ is the follow up to Maths Time Joy’s Hype Machine top 5 record ‘Only You’ feat. JMR which saw praise heaped on it from the likes of Complex, Hilly Dilly, La Belle Musique, CLASH, London In Stereo, Mahogany and many more. It follows on from his previous EP ‘Sanctuary’, which gained support from the likes of Annie Mac, i-D and Pigeons and Planes, and included his collaboration with Gallant on track ‘Cerulean’.

Having spent the majority of 2017 producing for other artists including Mahalia (Sober, No Pressure), Kevin Garrett (A Heart Like Yours) RØMANS (Overthinking ft. Mary J Blige), Snakehips/Malika (Put It On Me) to name a few, as well as earning a Grammy nomination for his work on Gallant’s ‘Ology” – Maths Time Joy returns with his first extended project in 2 years.

20 year old Atlanta native, Zaia, has been making a lot of noise over this past year. He has found success with ‘Slow It Down’, ‘Right’ and most recently ‘Insensitive’. His sound is like nothing coming out of Atlanta. “A bass heavy but very chill genre-blending vibe” sets the stage for his soulfully raspy way of going through a song.

A New York-based, Nigerian-born R&B singer/producer with a shadowy image, Toulouse arrived on the pop landscape in late 2016 with ‘So I Know You Care’, a soulful and electronically textured single that drew immediate praise from critics. His follow-up single, a gravely downplayed take on the jaunty 1963 Peggy March hit ‘I Will Follow Him’ that he titled ‘I Will Follow You”, was used in an advertisement for Apple’s iPhone 7 and became a breakout hit netting him millions of digital streams. Another single, ‘No Running From Me’, landed on the star-studded Fifty Shades Darker soundtrack in February 2017, adding another win to Toulouse’s brief but powerful canon. This all culminated in the release of his first project titled ‘Extended Plea’. While he has offered little information about himself, the artist’s scant biographical materials reveal that his family moved from Nigeria to the U.S. in 2004 and that, after graduating from NYU’s Clive Davis institute of Recorded Music, he spent some time recording instrumental music for commercials before coming into his own as a solo artist.
