Today sees MakeLove reveal the cinematic visuals for his new single ‘Dive In’. The new video just premiered on Clash, but you can also watch it below.

Based in the countryside just outside of London, MakeLove blends pop, funk, and soul to create a sound which is instantly pleasing, wonderfully inventive, and consistently enjoyable. Welding together crisp electronics, with funk-laced bass lines, brought together by warm, timeless vocal passages – ‘Dive In’ is another hugely impressive offering.

Here’s a quote from MakeLove himself: “‘Dive in’ is a love song. In all of the music I write there is a plead from one to another. Wanting or needing love and not being able to hide that affection. At the time of writing I was watching a lot of Charlie Chaplin films and listening to a lot of Paul McCartney when he decided to go disco for 20 minutes. Chaplin always played characters that do ridiculous acts to earn the love of others. Unashamed dancing and unashamed love.”

Awash with dreamlike synths, gorgeous falsetto vocal lines and an energetic funk feel, ‘Dive In’ continues to showcase MakeLove as an incredibly exciting prospect to look out for over the next year.

‘Dive In’ follows the release of his previous singles – ‘Head Up’ earlier this year, and latest release ‘Dancing All The Time’ – picking up plaudits from the likes of Noisey, DIY, and Clash along the way. Earlier support includes a spot on NME’s Radar section, before lighting up the blogosphere and getting picked up by Zane Lowe, who gave it multiple spins in the final months of his BBC Radio 1 show.

You can expect to hear MakeLove’s name plenty more as the year draws to a close, with plans for his debut EP release in February 2016.

The new single ‘Dive In’ is out now on Four Thieves Records.
