Hannah Jane Lewis is sharing new single ‘Bend Or Break’ – the second to be lifted from her debut EP, set for release later this year. Check it out over on Crack In The Road, Idolator, Popjustice and below.

Following the break-away success of her debut track ‘Why Start A War’ earlier this year, the New York-raised (now London based) artist is sharing a wonderfully compelling, different side to her songwriting. 

Speaking on the release of the new single, Hannah said: “Bend or Break is about finding compromise in a relationship, and feeling like the other person needs to let their guard down and open up. This song is a final plea for that, before it becomes too late.”

A sublime piece of swirling electronic pop, ‘Bend Or Break’ ebbs and flows, erupting into a sparkling synth heavy chorus, which is simply impossible to shake off. It’s another huge statement of intent from the young artist, showing that she is not only capable of delivering a huge pop hook, but also that she’s perfectly adept at creating contemporary pop, with an RnB flavour. ‘Bend Or Break’ no doubt confirms that Hannah is very much here to stay, and very much an artist to keep tabs on throughout the rest of the year.

Brought up in the cultural hot-bed of New York City, Hannah’s early exposure to the innovative and experimental creativity of the East Village, helped mould her into the artist she is today. Since moving back to the UK, a number of months and many late nights have been spent creating, and refining a sound of her own. Unashamedly inspired by the London contemporary pop scene – Hannah’s work with fellow songwriter Andrea Rocha has resulted in a stunning debut EP, which will see a release later this summer.

Navigating the complexities of relationships in her lyrics, Hannah’s sound seamlessly switches between dark, introspective undertones, and playful electronic pop. Letting her life influence her lyrics, Hannah’s debut EP encompasses a variety of influences, sounds, and experiences – and will no doubt be the start of a very exciting year ahead.
