DEAD KIDS – Into The Fire Single release date: December 8, 2008

‘It’s a broken heart song, but it’s also rooted in hope… ‘There’s only so much you can do with that energy when it’s burning a hole inside you like that…

‘Sometimes I get the feeling that people would love to see us fail. That they’d love to see us disappear. But that’s not important when I look out there and see all those eyes flashing and just how joyous some of our nights can be, then I think, fuck that… no-one and nothing can touch us’. – Mike Title, Dead Kids.

DEAD KIDS live in the spirit of now – a pure, unadulterated mixture of anger and tenderness, love and hate, sex and emotion, alienation and togetherness, broken-heartedness and hope. That’s what they delivered at festival and clubs all through the summer of 2008, turning every show into a wild party, an unforgettable event.

Now the incendiary sound that started fires in sweaty dives such as The Macbeth and East London’s Catch 22 or lit up bigger stages at Glastonbury, Lovebox and Great Escape is out on record. Into The Fire, the new single from Dead Kids b/w Arm, is out on Monday, December 8 on Sparrows Tear Records.

No one who has witnessed this five-piece live can doubt Dead Kids’ leader Mike Title when he says: ‘Our aim is to change the atomic structure in the room, to make the molecules vibrate, whether it be through love or fear we bring out the best in a crowd. We make them come alive and ignite their desire to be at one with us’.

Into The Fire is just the start… one of the single releases of the year. But don’t just take our word for it. Here’s what others had to say about Dead Kids:

Destined for arenas, the unknowns throw a party that is nothing short of legendary… 10/10 Rocksound (Camden Crawl review)

Amazing, iconic and deserving of all the hyperbole in the whole fucking world. Now, some fucker sign them, yeah. – The Fly [Great Escape Festival review]

Dead Kids are the spitting electrocuted baby of Public Image Limited. They’re the most terrifying band about, – NME

Conjuring hyperbolic sentiments like ‘They’re the best fucking band you’ll ever see! – VICE MAGAZINE

Mike loves the crowd, he hates them, he antagonises them, he embraces them. You can expect to be snogged by him, have drinks chucked at you, dived on, serenaded, cursed beseeched and wooed. It’s a manic performance. But you will not want to miss a minute – like standing next to a crate of fireworks wrapped in nitro-glycerine – you know you should move away, but you can’t help but stick around for the big bang – whisperinandhollerin.com [Stag And Dagger review]

Dead Kids kick out more energy, front and genuine danger than the rest of Whitechapel’s drainpiped fuckwits combined – Stool Pigeon

In the space of 25 minutes we’ve gone from hating Mike Title for being the brashest, most arrogant, swaggering shit we’ve ever seen to something not far shy of hero worship. The reason? He’s the brashest, most arrogant, swaggering shit we’ve ever seen. And he’s totally, totally brilliant new-noise.net
