‘PIECES’ the debut single from CHIMES, out August 10th, is a 3min30 burst of positive energy. CHIMES is a collaboration between British producer Draper and multi-genre songwriter/vocalist Paul Aiden.

The insecurity and battle for self-confidence in the verses (“It’s all a game, you against yourself / pressure building up”), make way for uplifting, anthemic crowd chants (“You can find all the pieces that lead you home”) – before hitting the listener with a massive dose of positivity in the chorus.

Forged through a speculative songwriting session in mid-2014, Draper and Aiden discovered both a creative chemistry and a shared love of constructing credible, commercial songs with international appeal. Several late night writing sessions and live rehearsals later, CHIMES was born.

CHIMES’ first music was unveiled in January 2015: ‘Silvia’, a pounding house track included on the Killing Moon New Moons: Volume III compilation. The track received praise from BBC Introducing (Record Of The Week), DIY Magazine and Breaking More Waves, naming CHIMES as one of the most promising artists that would be launching this year. ‘Silvia’ is available as a free download for a limited period here
. Since then, CHIMES have been recording new material and remixing other artists – PridesRemi Miles and Charlene Soraia.

“We’re both fans of dance-pop”, explains Draper, “but felt there was space for something new, fresh and powerful to make a mark”. For the duo it’s an opportunity to combine their experience of working with global artists with making the kind of songs that they love. “We want CHIMES to be a special live experience” says Aiden. “We loved the energy we felt creating the music – now it’s time to get it into venues and into everybody’s faces”.

Dance music has a new champion in waiting.

Forthcoming live shows include a headline slot at KOKO on July 24th. Tickets available here:
