One of Australia’s most exciting new prospects, APES have unveiled their new single ‘Strange Tastes‘.

The new single starts where previous track ‘Pull The Trigger’ left off, both powerful and dynamic, ‘Strange Tastes’ is built from sensual grooves – stitched together with a fiery, and fuzzy chorus. Front man Ben Dowd’s imploring vocal delivery through the chorus is offset by a yearning, very impressive falsetto through the verses. Apes know exactly when to explode and when to reel it back in, and the end result, is a gritty and irresistible brand of bluesy garage rock, that no doubt has the quality to sit alongside the finest.

This new material from the young Ballarat, Victoria based four-piece marks a real step up from their previous work, and with support tours and slots with the likes of Band Of Skulls, Manchester Orchestra, Royal Blood and Fidlar already under their belt, it’s an exciting time for Apes.

A worldwide publishing deal with Native Tongue was announced last week, in the wake of the band’s lauded BIGSOUND performances in Australia, where the quartet were heralded as one of the most exciting acts on the live program. Onward now as the band embark on their first UK headline tour, kicking off next week.
