Today, London-based songwriter/producer/singer Bruno Major is sharing his official debut single, entitled “Wouldn’t Mean A Thing”.
You can stream it over on Crack In The Road, Disco Naivete, Hillydilly – and below.
A true talent, Bruno Major is making a wonderfully impressive statement of intent with this new single. A track with a simple, yet sublimely effective lyrical premise, Bruno eloquently details how someone’s life – no matter where they travel, what they accomplish, how much money they earn; nothing really matters unless they’ve got someone to share it with.
“I could climb the Himalayan mountains” he opens the track with, to a sultry backdrop of dainty finger snaps, and choral loops. As the song builds, luscious funk-laced bass lines are added to equation, with the sporadical appearance of exquisitely placed acoustic guitar work.
Beautifully simple, but undeniably affecting – “Wouldn’t Mean A Thing” is a gorgeous introduction to the talents of Bruno Major.
Brother of Dot Major from London Grammar (who he lives/and shares a home-studio with in Camden), Bruno has been working behind the scenes as a writer and producer over the past 12 months or so – with recent songwriting credits including SG Lewis’ track “Yours”, and production and writing credits on the latest two singles from rising London based artist Liv Dawson – “Still” and “Tapestry”.
With a full album of material of his own set to be unfurled over the coming months, Bruno Major is a name to keep a firm eye on.
