Following on from their very well received new single ‘There’s A Wolf’ a month back (19 Hype Machine posts, top 5 on the Hype Machine chart, 50,000+ SoundCloud streams, BBC Radio 1 plays from Annie Mac, Huw Stephens, Phil Taggart etc) – Silences are today unveiling another track from their new EP ‘Luna’.
The stunning new track is called ‘Breathless’, and it premiered a moment ago on All Things Go. You can also now stream it below. Also definitely worth checking out the full EP stream/Track By Track over on Clash.
‘Breathless’ is another hugely accomplished track from the Northern Irish outfit. They recently returned from a short stint at SXSW – where they saw big crowds and packed venues for their performances – a great achievement for a band who had never set foot in the US before.
Speaking on the release of the new track, the band said: “This is the our favourite track off the EP – ‘Luna’. I think we’d all agree that it’s the track that we’re most excited about. In essence it’s about trying your best, but doubting if it will ever be enough.”
Whether that’s a reference to the band’s own efforts in their fledgling musical careers, or perhaps more linked to their personal lives – it’s certainly a relatable sentiment. Frontman Conchúr White opens the track with the line “I’ve spilt my guts for nothing as much as a flake of denial.” There’s no denying the lyrical intelligence and honesty on display throughout the new EP.
Silences‘ new EP ‘Luna’ is out this Friday 15th April, and to mark the release, they’re setting off on a UK/Ireland tour. All dates can be found below.
