The video is available at www.jamielidell.com, http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=GgM_V1j6CoI and in embeddable format at: http://warp.net/records/jamie-lidell
The single, backed with a remix by Tiga, will be released on July 19th in the UK.
As Jamie himself puts it: “Exploring the libidinal economics of modern telecomms, ‘I Wanna Be Your Telephone’ was always ripe for a tantalizing, uninhibited stream of images to accompany it’s naughty lyrical flow. Well here it is! It’s a dance routine, a mini picture, an ascot, a home made biscuit, a velvet drape, a hat, a pipe and a satin slip of a video. Relax in the knowledge that naughty is still real nice.” The video was directed by Lindsey Rome, who also directed the 1st video from Compass for the song “The Ring”, which can be viewed here: http://jamielidell.com/videos.html
