Delivering a flawless blend of pop sheen and honest confessional lyricism. “Crying On The Inside” starts with a pulsing bassline and dreamy harmonies, as the familiar honeyed tones of Little Boots drop in, to reveal fragments of venerability behind the glitter armour.
Victoria said about the single, ““Crying on the Inside” is about putting on a brave face when running into personal challenges; something I think we can all relate to, especially in the last year or so. I personally love when songs reference other songs or records, which this does. I actually wrote the song some time ago with Carly Rae-Jepsen in mind, but she didn’t take it and the track has always been one of my favourites as one that I personally relate to. I shared the original demo with my Patreon channel, and everyone really encouraged me to re-record it for myself and put it on the new album. I tried to channel a bit of a “Fleetwood Mac Dreams” vibe , but ultimately I think it’s just a classic happy– sad pop song.”
Little Boots fourth studio album “Tomorrow’s Yesterdays” will be the first that is solely written and produced by the artist herself. The making of the record was powered entirely by the support of fans on membership platform Patreon. Previous releases from the album ‘Silver Balloons’ and “Landline” were praised by leading online music press including BBC Ents, NME, Clash, and Paper while being playlisted by both Apple Music and Spotify UK. Victoria will also join the highly anticipated ABBA ‘Voyage’ concert, where she will be singing backing vocals, playing live keyboards and synthesisers.
In October 2021, Little Boots showcased the music from her new album alongside old favourites at a series of sold-out intimate shows across London and Manchester.
