Starling releases her new single ‘You’ on August 31st. Having released ‘The Soul EP’ earlier this summer, featuring the single ‘Profiteroles’ she makes a stunning return with ‘You’.

Speaking about the new single, Starling explains; “You” is a love song about hunger; that absent love you can have with someone who is fixated with going out than with being together. He wants to go out, he wants to get high; whereas, I don’t want that anymore – I want meaning. The video is about realising what I really need is self-love and the ability to be loving with myself, not just looking outside for that contentment.”

‘Profiteroles’ which premiered on The Line of Best Fit, picked up multiple plays on Annie Mac’s BBC Radio 1 show, was playlisted on Radio X’s Evening Playlist, got it’s TV debut on Channel 4’sSunday Brunch and was Amazon Music UK Weekly One w/o Aug 10, not to mention picking up Spotify New Music Friday support in 11 countries including Mexico, Germany, Australia and New Zealand, not to mention a fantastic Ellesse session and EP premiere on Atwood Magazine, who described it as “a graceful exploration of depth and intimacy whose flawless pink pop is as irresistible as it is moving.”

‘The Soul EP’ is the follow up to 2016’s ‘The Heart EP’ and more recently 2017’s ‘The Body EP’ which picked up support from; Radio 1 Clara Amfo / Misterjam / Annie Mac / Huw Stevens), 6 Music: (Mary-Anne Hobbs, Tom Robinson, Steve Lamacq), XFM: (Jo Good, Maz Tappuni, John Kennedy), Amazing Radio: (Playlist + ROTW) and BBC Radio 2: (Dermot O’Leary) as well as numerous online tastemakers including The Line of Best Fit, Wonderland Magazine, The 405, CLASH, 1883 Magazine, Record of the Day to name a few. In the words of Wonderland Magazine, Starling is The pop princess who DGAF.”

Speaking about the EP Starling explains,“‘The Soul’ marks the truth exploding out of me – power, fragility, change – I’m growing up and I’m braver than before. I’m not bound by my fear or my broken heart so much. I would almost say it’s sugary which is saying something as my previous two EP’s have been dark as. I’ve evolved and so has the story, the sound.”
