Seafret release their new single ‘Blank You Out’ on November 25th. The Bridlington duo (Jack Sedman and guitarist Harry Draper) return with their first single since the release of their emotive debut album, ‘Tell Me It’s Real’, which was released at the top of the year. https://soundcloud.com/seafretofficial/seafret-blank-you-out-1

Recorded at the end of the summer in Glasgow with Ross Hamilton, who they worked with on several tracks on their debut album, ‘Blank Me Out’ is stomping impassioned ode to modern life. Speaking about the track Sedman explains, “Sometimes in life you’d give anything to be with the person or people you love the most. ‘Blank You Out’ is about trying to find a way to distract yourself in the times you are separated from them.”

Currently on a sold-out European tour that comes to a close on November 27th in Paris, Seafret will play London’s Omeara on December 13th (also sold-out). They make their Russian live debut in Spring 2017 with shows in Moscow (23rd March) and St Petersburg (24th March).

It’s a rare thing when a band’s name perfectly encapsulates their music. Flip open a dictionary at ‘sea fret’ and you’ll find it’s the term for the mist that rolls inshore from the sea. Then pick any one of the Bridlington duo’s tracks and breathe in the delicately plucked acoustics, the gentle haze of rippling electronics, whispering strings and melancholy vocals.

Seafret’s signature affecting sound is none more evident on their break out track’s ‘Give Me Something’, ‘Atlantis’ and ‘Oceans’. The latter that has racked up over 36 million streams online across youtube and Spotify and it’s accompanying video which features Game Of Thrones’ star Maisie Williams had a slew of nominations at this year’s European MVAs.
