Taking us on a voyage into the unknown, Krusoe is today sharing his debut track, entitled “S.O.S”.

Capturing the nostalgia and faded glory of the seaside haunts he grew up around, “S.O.S”, and the forthcoming EP from which the track has been lifted – for Krusoe – is a reinterpretation of what has been, and a realisation of what is yet to come.

You can check out what DIY Mag and Indie Shuffle had to say about the track – and also available to stream below.

Born in London, Krusoe has rarely stuck around in one place for too long; perhaps a reference to his choice of moniker. Spending most of his teen years living on the UK’s south-east coast, he then moved to Paris, then onto Berlin, moving again to Belgrade shortly after that. He now resides back in the UK in Oxford, where “S.O.S” and the forthcoming EP came to life.

An astoundingly accomplished debut track, “S.O.S” combines jagged electronic samples, with an energetic shuffling rhythm section – with Krusoe’s high-reaching, sensational vocal turns adding the finishing touch to a song of utmost quality. Produced by Pedestrian, who has worked with the likes of Maribou State and Dusky – it’s a subtle, yet intriguing collaboration.

Loosely based on Odysseus’ journey – the EP – entitled “Give Up The Coast” is a stark and engaging 4 track release – which aims to mirror Krusoe’s views on the different stages of a relationship: Love. Madness. Loss. Denial. Acceptance. Rebirth.

“SOS” is the final track on the EP (with the first 3 tracks yet to be unveiled) – and is about acceptance and letting go. “Two ships, once sailing in the same direction, now headed in different directions – it’s meant to be a fond farewell!”Krusoe explains.

In his younger years, Krusoe toured throughout Europe, America and Canada as a classically trained vocalist, dedicating his youth to this pursuit. The rigorous rehearsal schedules gave him no time to reflect, dream or experiment.

As a result of this, he began writing his own music as the ultimate escapism, learning to play numerous instruments, and learning how to score full string sections along the way.

Inspired by his childhood musical heroes – Thom Yorke, Paul Simon and Damon Albarn, Krusoe aims to fuse these older influences, with more modern inspiration – with him citing the likes of Beck, Tame Impala and Ry X as recent artists who’ve impacted his songwriting.

Krusoe‘s debut EP “Give Up The Coast” will see a release later this year.
