Newcastle indie-rock trio, The Pale White release their storming new single ‘Peace of Mind’ on April 20th through Illegal Cinema Records. Thunderous, ‘Peace of Mind’ hits you with full force from the get go.

Speaking about the new single, Adam says “Our second offering this year. Let it rip through the bone-structured cage, which cradles the unpredictable and often misunderstood muscle that is the human brain. We are vultures circling our own demise, until we choose to regain consciousness.”

‘Peace of Mind’ was produced by John Martindale and the band at Blank Studios. It follows on from their recent single release ‘Loveless’, which featured on Spotify New Music Friday and had a plethora of radio plays and online support, and their eponymous EP, which was released in September through Ignition 45’s and featured singles ‘Downer’, ‘Reaction’ and ‘Turn It Around’.

The Pale White recently featured on The NME 100: Essential new music for 2018 who described their sound as “Hip-swaggering blues tunes catchier than Freshers Flu.” and “Fast becoming one of the North East’s hottest groups, the trio’s first EP evokes memories of The White Stripes early material – scrawling riffs and spikey rhythms aplenty.”

Prolific touring in 2017 saw them go from strength to strength having supported Twin Atlantic on their May UK Tour, The Libertines, High Tyde, The Sherlocks and most recently The Amazons on their October tour as well as numerous festivals last summer including Glastonbury (BBC Introducing stage), Kendal Calling, Barn On The Farm, Neighbourhood Festival and Reading and Leeds Festival. They’ve just sold out Newcastle Riverside (800 cap) and are planning a UK headline tour for spring alongside future singles and an album in the making.

They hit the road supporting We Are Scientists in May as well as Live and Leeds and Hit The North festival dates.

The emerging Newcastle band are the lads to propel rock music back to the summit. When they adopted the name The Pale White last year – which “alludes to the bright light people claim to see before they die” – everything fell into place. A string of demos in the shape of ‘Let You Down’ and ‘Second Place’ followed and support slots with bands like Band of Skulls, Maximo Park and more became a formality, in addition to a string of their own sold-out shows in the city.

Born and raised in the North East, the trio are proud of their origins, but are beginning to see the bigger picture. “Being from somewhere like this is more important than being a small fish in a big pond. We’ve got the potential to break out of the city where no one’s done anything for a while.”

Alongside major support from NME, the band has also picked up tastemaker support online from The Independent, Wonderland, CLASH amongst many others. Champions at radio include consistent support from BBC Radio 1 Introducing, picking up ‘Track Of The Week’ for ‘Reaction’, Radio 1’s Huw Stephens show, with live versions of ‘That Dress’ and ‘Turn It Around’ recorded live from Glastonbury broadcast on Huw ‘s Radio 1 show, Radio X’ and 6Music’s Steve Lamacq.
