Case Study – Ritual

The brief

Our work with R I T U A L began towards the tail end of 2014. The plan was to build upon the start that was made to their debut EP ‘The Fall’. The assets we had at our disposal were the two final EP tracks ‘Blood Flow’, and ‘Amnesia’, with a goal of maintaining their anonymity, whilst still building awareness and excitement around the project moving forward.

Our work

We kicked things off with a premiere of ‘Blood Flow’ on Pigeons & Planes – one of the US’s most credible and influential indie/hop-hop music blogs. Things really began to spiral after this, with support pouring in – including a personal hat-tip from Peter Rosenberg of Hot 97 radio in New York.

We secured further support from YouTube channels hosting the track, including Mr Suicide Sheep, La Belle Musique, The Vibe Guide and more. Accumulative streams for that track are now closing in on 2 million as a result of this.

We then premiered the final EP track ‘Amnesia’ on Complex, one of the most visited and popular music/culture sites in the world. That track has now had just under 200,000 plays on SoundCloud, and saw additional coverage on the likes of Hillydilly, The Line Of Best Fit, and more.

Results

With over 90 pieces of confirmed coverage, almost 3 million accumulative streams of the EP tracks, and a record deal signed early in 2015 – the campaign has been a brilliant success, and stands the band in good stead to have a really exciting year this year.
