What if Lipps Inc’s enigmatic Funkytown was none other than France’s pink city of Toulouse? This is the hypothesis on which the most emiment musicologists agree after having listened, and above all danced to, ‘Keep Going’.

Keep Going (rel 29.04.21) is the debut single from Flakes, five serious French men looking for a dance hall to unleash their funk vibe.

Listen to Keep Going here

‘Keep Going’ is a catchy modern funk-dance anthem. Flakes fan the disco-funk-pop flames of Parcels, Jamiroquai, Phoenix and Daft Punk (vintage year 2013 Random Access Memories), giving us that Good-Times-by-Chic-esque bass riff.

Ode to weightlessness and the multiple pleasures of perspiration, Flakes’ 5-track EP which will be released in October 2021 was recorded under the patronage of Daniel Yvinec who’s collaborated with Maceo Parker, Camille, and Salif Keita.

The band says: “Keep Going is the perfect balance between pleasure and sweating it out on the dance floor!”
