Fenech-Soler return with the four-track ‘Kaleidoscope EP’, their first new material since 2013. Huw Stephens gave lead track ‘Kaleidoscope’ its first spin on Radio 1 earlier this week, and the video is currently premiering on Noisey.

Now a duo comprising brothers Ben and Ross Duffy following the amicable departure of Andrew Lindsay and Daniel Soler, Fenech-Soler are back with a brighter, bolder and more eclectic sound. Recalling the streamlined indie-pop of The Whitest Boy Alive, lead track ‘Kaleidoscope’ is a buoyant ode to the pure joy of love. Track 2 is the atmospheric soul shimmer of ‘Night Time TV’ – inspired insomnia – while ‘On Top’ is an uplifting synth banger, and the EP closes with the happy-sad swirling pop of ‘HaHa’. While previous releases have seen them collaborate with the likes of Galantis, Starsmith and Tim Goldsworthy, ‘Kaleidoscope EP’ is confidently self-produced.

From Northamptonshire, Fenech-Soler have released two albums, their self-titled 2010 debut and the 2013 follow-up ‘Rituals’, and headlined gigs all over the world, including Shepherds Bush Empire on their last UK tour. They’ve toured with everyone from Kelis to Miike Snow to Robyn and been nominated for a Q Award, whilst overcoming a series of personal crises that would have defeated lesser bands.

Catch Fenech-Soler live at Oslo, Hackney on October 27.
