Dusky Grey release ‘Told Me’ acoustic piano version

To round off what has been an incredible year for Welsh pop duo Dusky Grey, including racking up over 15 millions streams, and to mark the 1 year release of their debut single ‘Told Me’, today they unveil a stunning, stripped back acoustic piano version of the track.

Having independently released ‘Told Me’ in November 2016 nothing could have prepared Gethin Williams and Catrin Hopkins aka Dusky Grey for the pace with which ‘Told Me’ would gather. They wrote the song during their third meeting together in September 2016. Catrin first got in touch with Gethin after chancing upon some of his music on Instagram and was suitably impressed to contact him via Facebook. It took another year before the duo decided to meet in person and then Dusky Grey was formed.

With two infectious singles now under their belts: debut single ‘Told Me’ and the effervescent follow up ‘Call Me Over’, Dusky Grey are an incredibly exciting prospect on the UK pop scene. Highlights from their first 12 months include being selected as BBC Radio 1’s Introducing ‘Track of the Week’ for ‘Call Me Over’, Spotify New Music Friday UK and Apple’s Best New UK, A List BBC Radio Wales, Sunday Brunch video play, support from tastemakers including Pop Justice, Earmilk, TMRW Magazine and even making it on to The Times – Essential Tracks playlist and signing East West / Warner Music Group.

Speaking about their whirlwind 12 months in music they explain, “It’s been a whole year of us being a band and we could not be more excited about what we’ve done and what’s to come. We’ve grown a lot this year and our music continues to grow with us and we can’t wait to share it with you. Next year we’re going to be taking everything on stage and hope you’ll join us.

‘Told Me’ and ‘Call Me Over’ are both out now on East West / Warner Music Group.
