Today, Caspar Leopard, the multi-talented, London based composer, producer and filmmaker releases his hotly-anticipated debut EP entitled ‘Restoration’, featuring new single and self-directed video ‘Son Of The Morning’ (rel 16.02.18).

Speaking about the project Leopard said “We spend our lives scrabbling around, trying to find a sense of purpose in the world, but ultimately, life is too big and strange for us to ever fully understand. ‘Son Of The Morning’ is about that process of constantly looking outside yourself, then coming to the conclusion that the answers are often far closer to home than we imagine”.

After his recent success, winning ‘Best Score’ at the Global Lift-Off Film Awards, Caspar turns his attention back to his solo music. ‘Son Of The Morning’ is accompanied by another intriguing self-directed video, cementing Leopard’s talent for creating cinematic mix-media releases. The music and film take us on a deep and at times difficult, journey inwards – searching for purpose in a mesmerising alien world. In stark contrast to the experimental dance film from the previous release (Expire Pt. I), with this animation Leopard shows he’s not afraid of branching out into new mediums. This bold exploration of different styles is also reflected in the way the music sits firmly beyond conformity – simultaneously giving a nod to psychedelic rock while biting synths and twisted orchestral atmospheres drag us forwards to the present.
To bring the video to life, Caspar teamed up with talented CG Artist Ben Wilson who animated this ambitious short film. Leopard enlisted producers Luke Smith (Clor, Depeche Mode, Foals,) and Orlando Leopard – his brother (Arthur Beatrice, Florence & The Machine, Thurston Moore) to help realise his eponymous debut. Together, the three of them co-produced the EP at the Leopard brothers’ East London Studio, No.1 Baltic Place.
