Caspar Leopard, the multi-talented, London based composer, producer and filmmaker releases new single ‘Is This Real?’ 24.5.18.

Speaking about the track Caspar said: ‘Is This Real?’ is about looking for answers to the ‘Big Questions’- it’s about the struggle to figure out who you are and what you want, the endless mystery involved with simply existing, the repetitive cycles we all get trapped in and the dreams we have of breaking out….but the song is actually pretty laid back, which is probably my subconscious telling me to stop taking it all so seriously and to sit back and enjoy the ride.

The ‘Big Questions’ are a reoccurring theme throughout Leopard’s work, but in contrast to the more sombre and introspective previous releases ‘Expire Pt. I’ and ‘Son Of The Morning’, new single ‘Is This Real?’ holds a more unifying positive tone. The journey starts with an enticing blend of synths; hypnotic guitars slowly gather momentum and horns usher us towards a euphoric climax. While Leopard’s saturated and dislocated vocals lead us away from the ‘Real’ and into a surreal dream, underneath his voice the song’s live organic feel gently reminds us that we still have one foot in reality.

Winning ‘Best Score’ at the Global Lift-Off Film Awards in January 2018, set the year off on the right foot for Leopard. Since then, he has been busy composing scores for various TV and film projects including the new Channel 4 TV drama ‘Through The Gates’. Meanwhile, Caspar continues to push forwards with his solo work. Following on from his debut EP ‘Restoration’, new single ‘Is This Real?’, produced by Luke Smith (Foals, Depeche Mode, Everything Everything), shows another new side to an already highly diverse artist.
